Senior Accountant

Job Description
Interpret financial policies and procedures to ascertain compliance with the law. and facilitate efficient and effective utilization of the headquarters financial resources. Coordinate operations of the account’s division. Manage training and development of accounts staff at the headquarters. Implement the organisation’s budget and report on the utilization of resources. The following are the Duties and roles:a) Interpret and provide guidelines for implementation of financial policies and regulations at the headquarters a) Interpret and communicate internal control systems for efficient management of the Organization’s finances; a) Develop and document headquarters accounting manuals and guidelines to maintain and strengthen internal controls a) Mentor, Coach and develop headquarters finance team to improve performance b) Develop the division’s work plan and budget; c) Identify and document risks in the division and institute mitigation measures. d) Review of monthly, quarterly and annual reports d) Coordinate preparation of annual financial statements e) Maintain an updated register of the Company’s assets f) Convene and chair the division’s meetings and spearhead implementation of the decisions of the meeting a) Execute the approved division work plan and budget g) Carry out induction and capacity building for the divisions staff h) Coordinate the payment processes and ensure that they are within the approved financial guidelines; i) Review and submit monthly cash flow projections for the headquarters d) Review, authorize payment vouchers and journals j) Alternate signatory to Company’s operational bank account k) Safeguard the Company’s physical assets including financial resources f) Respond to internal and external audit queries; l) Custodian of accountable documents, registers at the headquarters m) Review headquarters bank reconciliation statements and ensure necessary adjustments are done
