Job Description

The role works within the Kenya Country Programme family and the wider Programme management unit. The role is based in Nairobi Kenya and is key ensuring quality and excellence in project and budget management that ensures grants to partners are implemented as planned, within budget, timelines and deliver intended outputs and impact. The role is responsible for the thematic area of inclusive markets encompassing interventions aimed at supporting the development of interventions that drive systemic market change, including through the Participatory Market Systems Development approaches (PMSD), and other relevant Market development approaches such as Inclusive Business, Making markets work for the Poor (M4P) and value chains, Enterprise Based Development (EBD) initiatives that use a combination of grant and investment funding to support small holder enterprises to develop; support policy work that supports an enabling environment for pro-poor market activity that improve engagement of poor and marginalised men and women in existing and new value and market chains.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. The role is responsible for contributing to the development of Christian Aid policy, strategy, thought leadership and communication under the Inclusive Market stream of work
  2. To contribute to the representation of Christian Aid to external stakeholders on Inclusive Market and undertake liaison and advocacy with County and National Government partners and officials on project activities and related to economic Justice issues
  3. Coordinate and represent Christian Aid County and National authorities and ensure activities are carried out in line with National and County strategies as far as possible and their participation
